Fresh from its successful performance at the London Emergenza concert, FASY played live on stage in its home town Male’, in front of a huge and enthusiastic crowd, turning out to see the country’s leading musicians play live in concert.

More than 3,000 music fans were treated to 3 hours of material from the band’s repertoire, including many of Faseeh’s now famous guitar solos. Adding to the shows rocking success was the inspired contribution of guest bassist Fayid.

With such a phenomenal response from the local audience, expect the band to play in Male’ again sometime soon.

Emergenza London competition, first round at West One Four in London
In 25 minutes that have changed the band’s future forever, FASY was at its best: energetic rock, memorable melodies, passionate solo performances, a heaving audience.

It was the first stage of the Emergenza London festival, a competition of unsigned bands. Seven bands played that night, each getting 25 minutes to impress the audience of about 300 people. And not only did FASY get the highest number of votes that night, they came out 3rd among more than 60 bands participating in the series of first-round concerts.

FASY kicked off with a bang and filled the hall with their power and energy. “It was awesome and we can feel the power of music all over the place”, said one Maldivian fan. A group of New Zealanders raved “The guitar player [Faseeh] was too good – we had to congratulate him” and later shouted “We are coming to the Maldives!” after finding out that the band was from Maldives.

The band rocked the crowd and members danced and clapped to the music. The climate was euphoric and the crowd supported FASY throughout. The most spectacular scene was to see the charming Abba ‘topless’ and thrown like a ping-pong ball in the air. This may have been the first time Abba was exposed, in style and was branded ‘hot’ by the girls present.

FASY would like to thank everyone for the fantastic support. “Your cheers, singing, chanting and voting made sure this will stay in our memories for a long time as an unforgettable evening of Maldivian rock music and pride. Many many thanks for your support”, said Mariya, Faseeh’s sister, on behalf of the band.
